Cheltenham ladies turned up keen for a fight, with a good warm up and freshly watered pitch we were away. We started well with some great passing and holding the opposition in their half. Both sides gave a good fight in the first half with a few nervous breaks from Bath buccaneers which were well defended by cheltenham and some amazing saves from Vicky Harker! By half time no goals were scored and the game was up for grabs, unfortunately right at the start of the second half Bath buccaneers managed to score a scrappy goal, not to worry cheltenham ladies turned it straight back around winning a short corner. Charli Roberts finished with a smashing strike right in the bottom corner, making it 1-1. Not long after Tegan Lodde made a great run creating another short corner oppurtunity and sending a Bath player off with a green card. We carried out a right slip short corner, which ended in a goal by Nadine Moody. In an effort to gain a goal back, Bath went to 11 players, taking their keeper off the pitch in the last 5 minutes, this was no use against the calm heads of cheltenham ladies. The match ended in a 2-1 victory to cheltenham, a couple of injuries and smiles all round! Special mention to Vicky Harker the goal keeper for a stunning performance, a very well deserved man of the match!
