CHELTENHAM attacked from the start and gained their rewards to retain top spot in Severn Division One.
They had several early shots on target but were denied by Stroud goalkeeper Amy Lloyd Jones.
Cheltenham went ahead after 20 minutes when an effort from Cheltenham's Fran Centamore was left by the goalkeeper, who appeared to think it had been hit from outside the D.
A second goal from young player Frankie Mayes followed in the second half after a ball was hit across the face of the goal from the right wing and Mayes was on target from close range to sweep the ball into the net.
The Cheltenham defence blocked any attack from Stroud and Issy Shayle played well on her return to the team.
A well worked move saw Helen Lord through to score a third for the home team and a fourth was added when Centamore ran through the defence into the circle and Sophie Jowett had the final touch to slot the ball over the goal line.

CHELTENHAM found the leaders of Hereford and Gloucester League Division One too strong.
Cheltenham started aggressively as they tried to make sure Sherborne would have a tough afternoon.
However, solid defensive work by Mark Godwin, Kevin Hobkirk and Siri Siriwardene allowed the home team to gradually take control and then score at regular intervals. The Sherborne midfield, led by James Waltham and Ed Smith, fed the forwards with telling passes and Geoff Hulbert capitalised on this by netting a hat-trick.
