The Wednesdays take on Isca in the O45 National Championships

The Wednesdays reached the 4th round of the National Championships Cup with wins against Witney, Westbury and Solihull. Both teams spent the warm up eyeing up known members of the opposition. Cheltenham adopted a 60% press and soon found themselves under considerable pressure. The Weds defended valiantly throughout, blocking everything that Isca threw at them and countering whenever they could. At half time, the score remained 0-0. In the 3rd quarter, Isca won a PC and a drag flick that was going wide at waist height was deflected in by the injector. Giles who had been saving everything thrown at him had no chance with this freak shot.

Isca kept up the pressure but the Weds also won a number of PCs, however, they were sadly unable to convert them. As the game progressed, tackling on both sides became a little loose and a number of cards were shown. Just before the end Ben was floored outside the 23m; the subsequent move led to a PC on the final whistle. The Isca GK was up to the task saving another very good drag flick.

Thanks to all those who have represented the squad throughout the competition.
